Reading a Ruler USING CUSTOMARY UNITS (Inches) MADE EASY!!

This distance is representing a full inch 01

The full inch is divided into two sections. The number of sections determines the denominator, there are 2 sections so the denominator is 2!

Each half inch section is divided into two smaller sections. Remember the number of sections determines the denominator, there are 4 sections so the denominator is /4 3/4 2/4

Each forth inch section is divided into two sections. The denominator is now 8 because there are 8 sections

Each eighth inch section is divided into two sections. The denominator is now 16 because of the 16 sections

16 2 All the red fractions can be reduced if you choose to do so!
