The CAUSE is why something happens. It makes something happen, like this bowling ball makes the pins fall. The pins fall because the ball hits them.

The EFFECT is what happens. The ball hits the pins, so they fall down.

Sometimes a sentence shows the effect right after the cause: The ball hits the pins, so they fall down.

Sometimes the effect comes before the cause in a sentence. The pins fall down because the ball hits them.

Believe it or not, we have just learned some CAUSE and EFFECT “signal” words. why because so why because so
