The Reading Section of the ACT – take notes! The ACT Reading section includes four sections: 1. Prose Fiction 2. Social Studies 3. Humanities 4. Natural Sciences Each section leads itself to a particular set of strategies. We will therefore learn these strategies and… DOMINATE!

ACT Reading Questions: There are two types of questions: 1. Inferential – imply, suggest, infer… 2. Literal – vocabulary in context, factual information We need to practice with both.

Unpacking YOUR Test: You must now turn to the interim assessment that we took last month. You will see the same level test when you return from winter break, and we will be looking for improvement in ALL QUESTION TYPES! You will work with a partner to identify why you missed certain questions/question types. This is all about making sure that you learn from your mistakes – use one another and me to identify where you can improve!
