Second Harvest Finding Summer Meals for kids by using this Mapping Tool

The purpose of this tool is to help people find information about free meals for kids and show you where the meals are being served around your home. The hope is that this tool is very easy to use. Please read this help document and contact us if you have questions.

There are several features to point out. Since this tool uses Google Maps you can use it the same way you would use Google Maps for anything else. You can zoom in, zoom out, pan around the map. You can even turn on the satellite photo!

Here are some special features to help you find free meals around your home. Enter My Address Search Distance Find Free Meal Locations

The first thing to do is to enter your address. 1.You may enter your complete address or just the city and state. 2.Next enter your search distance from your address to find locations near you. 3.Click the “Find Location” button.

The map will zoom to the address you entered and display meal locations near you. The meal locations will show up on the map as a red tags. ALSO The locations will be listed on the left side of the map.

To view the information for the meal location... You can either click on the red tag on the map OR the name of the location on the left side of the map.

If you need directions... Click on the “Directions” link at the bottom of the information balloon. This will pop you over to the Google Maps site where you can print the driving directions.

If there are no locations in your “Search Distance”... You can always change the “Search Distance” by clicking on the black arrow next to the current search distance and choosing a new distance. THEN Click the “Find Location” button again

If you want to start a new search... Click the “Start Over” button and the map will zoom out to the original size.
