Why do we date? To find a partner in life To get our basic needs met Exposure to new interests Part of the socialization process Try out gender roles New challenges

When to start dating? The move to intimate friendships occurs at different times for everyone When you and your family believes it’s right Should not be taken lightly When you signs of maturity When you are able to rationalize and communicate about your feeling

How to start dating? Go out in groups with mixed gender; less pressure. Get to know many people. Get to know their friends Ease into it Go to public places Wait until you are ready
