Fable Lesson 19

The main idea in a fable is its moral, or lesson. In a fable, animal characters face a problem or conflict. When the conflict is resolved, one of the characters learns a lesson, such as “You can’t please everyone.”

Read the passage. Discuss the graphic organizer. Every event in the fable is focused on resolving the conflict.

Read the passage. The conflict between the characters involves conflicting desires; one character wants one thing to happen, and another character wants the opposite to happen. All the events in the fable are focused on reaching the resolution. Complete the graphic organizer.

To make sure your ideas are focused, every event in your fable should lead to the resolution of the conflict. The fable should clearly state the moral. Writing Prompt: All fables have a moral.
