6 Science Fairs National Taiwan Science Education Center organizes National Primary & High School Science Fair (NPHSSF) and Taiwan International Science Fair (TISF) Most funding comes from the government, also received funding from Intel, KT Lee Foundation for science & technology, GFC & TDK Corporation 183 students, 121 projects from 11 countries participating at 2009 TISF

7 Science Fairs Biggest obstacles 1.Insufficient government support & funding 2.Good quality of projects, involve research & experimentation 3.Low participants ratio compared to the populations of students 4.Schools focus on academic performance & exams, in general teaching practices do not support project based learning
