Homework Your child can expect 45 – 60 minutes of homework every day. Serves as practice for skills learned in class. Should be completed by student It is okay to help, but working through the tough problems is an important skill to be learned.

Late Work Students will be expected to complete all class and homework on time. In the event that the work is late, the student will not receive full credit, but the student is still expected to complete the work. Work is assigned in order to give the student practice of a concept.

Attendance and Assignments All homework must be made up when absent Students have equal days as days absent to make up the work It is the student’s responsibility to determine missed assignments and copy missed notes upon return to class. All assignments are on the board or online for the week, and will be recorded each Monday in their Agenda. Students should keep their agendas current the teachers in advance if your student is going to be absent in order for us to provide work

Purpose of Academic Lab Enrichment of core curriculum three days a week This class will be graded Music enrichment one day a week Students not in music will have a day for study hall Students will be rotated every quarter

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) PBIS provides staff and students with a unified set of rules Rules are clearly defined, taught to the students and posted Students may earn ticket when any staff member observes them showing respect, responsibility or pride. Random Drawings are done on a quarterly basis. Winning students are recognized in a variety of ways PBIS is a Kyrene School adopted program

Altadena Behavior Expectations If your child is impacting learning and teaching then the following procedure will be followed. Three Strikes Your Out! Redirect Warning ISI (In School Intervention) Harmful behaviors will result in a conduct referral with an administrator

Cheating Student integrity is a mark of good character; honesty and responsibility are expected. In the event of cheating on homework or practice work, parents will be contacted and the student will receive a zero. In the event of cheating on tests – students will be referred to administration and receive a zero – this includes plagiarizing material on reports.

Please note there is a strict policy for students at Altadena Students should be on campus by 8:25 am Be prepared for detentions and conduct referrals in the event of continued tardiness State law requires that ALL students attend school Be On Time
