Explore how Lady Macbeth is presented in the play of ‘Macbeth.’ LO: To analyse Lady Macbeth LGs: I can – consider different aspects of Lady Macbeth (all) - compare Lady Macbeth at the beginning of the play to the end (most) - explain how women were viewed in those days and apply it in some of my answers (some) Explore how Lady Macbeth is presented in the play of ‘Macbeth.’ You should consider the whole play when answering this question. You will need: An introduction Your main PEE paragraphs Conclusion Your last LG would be perfect here – Try and get it in with your explanations!

Supported my point with relevant evidence (3a-4c) Lady Macbeth tries to cover for Macbeth: ‘My Royal Lord, you do not give the cheer.’ This is also shown when she says: ‘I pray you speak not: he grows worse and worse.’ She is trying to cover and take charge of the banquet because she realises that Macbeth is acting strange and starting to lose his sanity. The audience would respect that Lady Macbeth is protecting her husband; however, she could also be doing it to protect their secret. The repetition of her using ‘worse and worse’ highlights how bad Macbeth is getting. This doesn’t seem like it a phase that will get better. This is why she tells people to leave quickly. Macbeth might let slip what they have done. She says ‘you do not give cheer’ as she realises that Macbeth does not look very cheery himself. She realises that his mind is troubled and that things might get worse from here. = 6b What could have improved this? Made a clear point (3c+) Supported my point with relevant evidence (3a-4c) Explained how my evidence proves my point (4b-4a) Commented on how it affects the reader/listener (5c-5b) Zoomed in on words and look at their meaning (5a) Have given another reason why that word or phrase is used (6c) Challenge: Looked at patterns and have used multiple evidence to prove points (6b-6a)
