IES programme evaluation Deep dive case study approach: ● 5 organisations ● 1 local health system Within each organisation: ● Describe the intervention and process of implementation ● Contextualise it within wider strategies on LTC, engagement and patient experience ● Explore views on whether it has been a useful approach for clinicians and their patients ● Explore views on whether it has resulted in any changes to thinking or practice ● Support local identification of relevant outcome data ● Examine local evidence of impact in terms of health outcome improvements and consequences for organisations

Proposed evaluation methods Qualitative Scoping focus groups with clinicians, May 2013 Organisational case studies Oct 2013-July 2014 to include: ● Initial focus groups with clinicians and their colleagues ● Follow up telephone interviews with clinicians and local stakeholders Quantitative Patient experience surveys across case study sites, before and after health coaching Site specific anonymised hard data from clinical and management indicators
