How to Calculate Area, Perimeter, and Volume By Trayvona Ford

How to Calculate Area? The area of a shape is the amount of space inside the shape. Area is measured is square units such a square millimeters (mm 2 )square centimeters (cm 2 )square meters (m 2 ) and square kilometers(km 2 )

Area 2 4 height multiply the base times the height 2ft x 4ft =8ft base

How to Calculate Perimeter? The distance around the outside edge of a shape. The perimeter of a shape can be found by adding the lengths of all of the sides of the shape.

Perimeter 6in =24in Perimeter =24in 6in

How to Calculate Volume? The amount of space inside a 3-D figure or object. Volume is measured with cubic units. The most commonly used units at the cubic millimeter (mm 2 )and the cubic meter(m 3 ).

Volume 5in 6in Volume =length x width x height (6 x6) x 5 =180 cubic inches
