 The memorial «The Black Tulip» was unveiled as a memento of the soldiers, who were killed in local wars. It is situated on the Leninskaya Square in Shipunovo, between the House of Culture and the Administration building. «Black Tulip» is made of black marble.

 There are beautiful green fur-trees around this memorial. It is a symbol of memory of victims. The road to the memorial is laid out with tile. It has been created on June, 25th The Union of Afghanistan veterans became the initiator of a memorial creation.

 The means on the monument building were collected by the citizens of Shipunovski rayon including pensioners, kindergartens and the day nurseries. Veterans of the Great Patriotic War and local wars, representatives of regional administration, police, the military commissariat, inhabitants of Shipunovski rayon have taken part in solemn unveiling of the memorial.

 Ten names of the boys, who have fallen performing the military debt in Afghanistan and the Chechen Republic, will be kept in the countrymen`s memory for ever. The memorial makes an indelible impression on people, because there are memorial slabs on the Black Tulip with the names of those people, who were fighting and were killed in the Chechen Republic and Afghanistan.
