Amazing Kidneys

AMAZING KIDNEYS First phase of the CREDIT study has been completed and according to the data, a nationwide strategy is planned. CREDIT study revealed that the frequency of diabetes among kidney patients has increased in annual basis and number of the CKD patients also increase dramatically by %12. CREDIT study has also created the database for kidney health policy and road map.

AMAZING KIDNEYS WKD 2010 conference was organized at Turkish Kidney Foundation. Representatives from Turkish Society of Nephrology, Turkish Hypertension Society, The Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism of Turkey, Istanbul University Istanbul Medical School participated the conference, as well as as transplanted journalist who suffered Crush Syndrome.

AMAZING KIDNEYS “Amazing Kidneys against Hypertension and Diabetes” was the theme for our WKD 2010 poster and we use this visual at several communication channels. Our poster and brochures will be distributed throughout the whole year in main shopping malls.

AMAZING KIDNEYS By screenings at schools especially located in disadvantaged areas, more than elementary school students were monitored and potential kidney patients were examined in our hospital.

AMAZING KIDNEYS As we have planned on our annual WKD activity schedule, we had information booths in the popular shopping malls to attract attention and enhance the kidney health awareness and organ donation. We distributed brochures, booklets and promotional articles to the visitors and also accepted organ donations. Many people visited our booths, asked many questions about kidney health and this activity is spreaded out through the whole year.

AMAZING KIDNEYS Billboards were prepared to warn people avoiding consumption of excessive amounts of three-whites; flour, salt and sugar which affect wellness and kidney health of human. More than 100 billboards were donated by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality to inform the community.

AMAZING KIDNEYS This year the sub- theme was “Freedom to Kidneys” which represents the dialysis machine-free life of ESRD patients after kidney transplantation and as to symbolize this theme, hundreds of colorful balloons were released to the sky.

AMAZING KIDNEYS On WKD 2010, a World Kidney Day Concert was held in one of the largest shopping malls and listeners enjoyed the day while being informed about their kidney health.

AMAZING KIDNEYS National Soccer League teams supported WKD 2010 by carrying “Protect Your Kidneys” bills and the message had reached millions of soccer fans during all games.

AMAZING KIDNEYS 2nd Prize winner of WKD 2010 Iconic Item Competition was created by Turkish Kidney Foundation team and we are happy to see our iconic item on WKD site.
