Comune di Foggia Kick off Meeting of MUSEC “Multiplying Sustainable Energy Communities A Blueprint for Action” Daniela Gasperi A.FO.RI.S. – Subcontractor Foggia Municipality Modena, 12 Gennaio 2007

Comune di Foggia Foggia is the main city of Capitanata, sub-region of Apulia, in southwest of Italy, and after Bari city, represents the more important street and railway center communications of the region. Its number population is with demographic density of 305,9 inhabitants for squared kilometer.

Comune di Foggia The productive activities presents in the area of Foggia are mainly:  agricultural activities;  industrial activities. Through the Agenda 21, Foggia Municipality has developed new strategies aimed to promote best practices in environmental field.

Comune di Foggia One of the most important projects relative to energy consumption is “Photovoltaic Roofs” in Public Buildings, according to National Law by , in which an alternative system of solar production have been planned. Recently, new plannings about public energy consumptions, comprehensive of environmental effects valutation, have been analized. The acquisition of this data will be finalized to strategic and functional guideline planning in the future.

Comune di Foggia An other project that involves Foggia Municipality is “Analysis of energy consumptions and lighting plan for less environmental effects” with analysis of public energy consumptions to realize:  municipal energetic plan;  lighting plan for less environmental impact;  communication and dissemination activities.

Comune di Foggia In every WP that is involved Foggia Municipality, there is A.FO.RI.S. as Subcontractor. A.FO.RI.S. is a no-profit organization very popular in Apulia for its activities to promote best practices in environmental field. A.FO.RI.S. was, with Ambiente Italia, technical structure to support Foggia Municipality in the A21L process.

Comune di Foggia Actually, A.FO.RI.S. :  is technical structure for management of “LA.SE.R. – laboratory of consultancy and research for the local sustainability” for Foggia Municipality;  with Ambiente Italia is realizing the project “New governance methods and environmental management systems” for Foggia Municipality (Environmental certification – EMAS and environmental accounting ) ;

Comune di Foggia A.FO.RI.S. is the management structure of regional EMAS and ECOLABEL School. A.FO.RI.S. and Ambiente Italia have written up the Environmental Energetic Plan for the Apulia Region and have collaborated to promote the aeolic regulations in Apulia. A.FO.RI.S. and Ambiente Italia are promoting the “Vai col Vento” program, communications, disseminations and training activities to promote the regional aeolic regulations in all the Apulia territories.

Comune di Foggia A.FO.RI.S., Ambiente Italia and the University of Foggia are going to realize a study for the energetic valorization of biomasses and promotion of energetic cultivations in the agriculture area of province of Foggia, for Assindustria Foggia. A.FO.RI.S. and Ambiente Italia will be consultant structure of AMGAS Foggia to analyse activities to promote in the field of renewal energetic source and in the field of the energetic efficient in the province of Foggia.
