The Dream Team Project Spring Device Hot Wheel tied to string Pipe with marbles

Overview of Project By slamming the release button, the spring shoots the tennis ball. Tennis ball goes up ramp hitting hot wheel car. Hot Wheel car goes down ramp unplugging stopper. With the stopper unplugged, marbles spill out into container. Container counteracts weight to raise the 1 kg.

What Really Happens Potential energy of spring changes to kinetic energy of tennis ball. Gravitational potential energy of hot wheel and conservation of momentum from tennis ball provides velocity of the hot wheel. Gravitational potential energy of marbles become kinetic energy to move down pipe.

Conclusions Costs of Project Hot wheel - $0.94 Play dough - $0.48 Marbles - $1.98 String -$0.50 Tennis Balls - $1.99 Funnel-$0.48 Duck tape- $0.99 TOTAL = $ tax Other materials include wood, nails, glue, and spring. Estimated value ≈ $8.00 Major Issues: 1. Calibrating exact weight to have project work in 10 seconds. 2. Marbles going down pipe. Each member was given a certain piece to build, slide to create, and help with overview.
