LAUSD Charter Oversight Visit M. Van Pelt

A team of instructional visitors that will be walking through Ouchi O’Donovan verifying that we are meeting our goals and mission. They also want to observe you, the students, in your classes to see how learning is taking place. We all want to make sure that our students have the best education!!!

They will look for…  Effective Instructional time (2-hour blocks)  Digital and whiteboard agendas with objectives, standards, and methods of assessment  Student Engagement and Interactions  High Expectations for all students  Academic language and vocabulary  Data  Student work samples  Rigor

Complex Areas of Focus  Group Structures  Be prepared to talk about why you are in a certain group or station and what the activity is.  Academic Discourse  Be sure to use complete sentences with academic vocabulary related to the content and EXPLAIN your reasoning.  Checks for Understanding  Be ready to answer questions when your teacher calls on you. And be sure to self-monitor your progress on the material.
