Gimp Selective Color Practice 5/21/09

Download and open picture

Use blade tool to crop picture

Press the Ctrl and L buttons

Right click layer and select Duplicate Layer

Rename new layer “Gray scale”

While the “gray scale” or top layer is selected, go to the menu bar and click colors, then desaturate

Select “Luminosity” than Desaturate

Right click gray scale layer and click add layer mask

Make sure white is selected then press ok

Make sure you have these three: color first layer, gray scale second layer, and a mask layer

Select paint brush and start painting apple

Zoom in and change size of paintbrush by changing scale
