Action plan MRS. ZAHIDA THE CITY SCHOOL HISTORY, GRADE 9.

Adopt 21 st century teaching approaches to enhance students appreciation for history LONG-TERM GOAL

 Questioning strategies should be changed in a way that gives motivation to weaker students and promote critical thinking. SHORT-TERM GOALS

Focus on encouraging students instead of praising them.

Encourage collaboration among the students, this will help them in understanding how they can use each others knowledge as a resource.

INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES AND TASKS 1.CREATING THE RIGHT CLASSROOM CLIMATE

2.YOUR CLASSROOM PLAN

3.ORGANIZING YOUR CLASSROOM

4.DEVELOPING ROUTINES AND PROCEDURES

5.ASSIGNING AND MANAGING WORK ASSIGNMENTS

6.PREPARING FOR INSTRUCTION

7.MANAGING BEHAVIOR

8.KEEPING IT ALL GOING

THESE EIGHT INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES WILL HELP TO BECOME A SUCCESSFUL TEACHER THAT STUDENTS WILL REMEMBER FOREVER. THIS WILL ALSO HELP MY STUDENTS BECOME LIFELONG LEARNERS.

SOLUTION TO ANTICIPATED CHALLENGES  The principal may not agree with my new approach. I will share the course manual and my notes from this course to my principal. CHALLENGES SOLUTIONS

 I do not own a computer. I will stay after school to use a computer in the school’s computer lab to create productive tools. CHALLENGES SOLUTIONS

 There may be students who do not want to work together. I will randomly group students to encourage collaboration with all class members. CHALLENGES SOLUTIONS

 Opportunities provided may look less to students. Will help students by asking different questions and putting examples to get the required answer. CHALLENGES SOLUTIONS
