EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP) EAP is an employer-sponsored, systematic, and long- term support and benefit program. It is designed to assist employees and their family members in getting help for mental and behavioral problems, so as to improve the effective of the employees and the organization. It generally includes counseling for employees and their household members.

HOW TO USE EAP – LM REFERRAL LM noticed a potential issue with the employee LM discuss with HRBP whether to use EAP? LM contact & discuss with intake consultant, confirm type of referral Y Y Type I: Friendly Referral Talk the employee to contact EAP informally Type II: Formal Referral: Ask the employee to use EAP formally Type III: Mandatory Referral: This kind of referral needs case by case discussion between LM, HR and EAP counselor to make ensure it’s within company policy Employee will decide whether to use EAP. No feedback will be provided to the LM EAP will feedback whether the employee is using the EAP. The case will be closed after the employee’s emotion and performance get stabilized.
