Ford 1.besides dealing with the fallout from Watergate, Ford faced tough economic problems which were exasperated by the results of large Democratic gains in the 1974 midterm elections (43 + in the House & 3 + Senate) 2.Ford vetoed more bills than any other president as he tried to curb inflation; most were social welfare bills (66 total but many were overridden)

 he issued WIN buttons to try and to motivate the nation in whipping inflation now  Ford pushed for tax cuts and spending cuts; he got only the former and the nation went into a deeper recession FFailed to improve economy- consumer demand dropped and unemployment skyrocketed.
