 In what ways did the New Deal impact women, African Americans, and Native Americans?  How did the New Deal change American Politics?  Explain the criticism from both the left and the right of the New Deal

 Meeting in which the US called for an end to navel arms race.  Led to an agreement in which quotas were set.  For every 5 tons of US and British ships, the Japanese would get 3 and France and Italy 1.75.

  Brainchild of French and US diplomats.  Outlawed war as an instrument of foreign policy.  62 nations signed.

 US institutes a new policy towards Latin America.  In some ways an abandonment of the Roosevelt Corollary  Started with Hoover  But most associated with FDR.  Economic persuasion replaces military.

 At the World Economic Conference in London (1933).  Meeting about stabilizing world currencies and resolving the problem of WWI debts.  FDR took the US of the gold standard.
