Israeli-Palestinian Conflict English 6 Lina Yang Integrated Novel Project

Can the teenagers of Israel and Palestine today recover from the violence they have faced all their lives? No, since May 1948 Israel has been in conflict with it’s neighbors, resulting in several major wars and decades of violence that continue to this day.

The Wars The main reason the countries are always bombing each other is because of the land. Israel and Arab had 5 wars:1948,1956,1967,1973,1982 Palestine had the most wars with Fatah, and Hamas. Israel had the most wars with Hamas and Hezbollah. Watch this video

The Homeland of the Jews Israel considers itself the Jewish homeland and insists that a true Jewish life can only be lived within its borders. The idea has contributed to the continuation of the territorial conflict between Israel and the Palestinians. Israel is unable to withdraw from the occupied territories and accept the formation of a Palestinian state because it believes this land is necessary for the settlement of Jews from around the world. The vast majority of Jews throughout the world reject the idea that they are in "exile" and that Israel is their real “homeland.”

How Many People Are Getting Hurt? There were only 10% of Jews in Palestine still only 13% of population Palestinian people have died and 2108 people have gotten injuries, and 13 Israel people passed away and 325 people have gotten hurt Palestinian people died and 15 Israel people died.

Peace Process European Union, Russia, the United Nations and the United States on September 17, 2002, was the Road Map for Peace. The proposal never made it beyond the first phase, which called for a halt to Israeli settlement construction and a halt to Israeli and Palestinian violence, none of which was achieved. No solution was crafted which satisfied both Israeli and Palestinian demands.

The Timeline of Violence A settler murder ed 2 Israel soldiers murder ed by 2 Hamas The body of a 72- year-old Israeli was found in the northern Jordan Valley in his burned out car. Nine Pales tinian milita nts and a child were killed Israeli forces killing one Palesti nian in Gaza. 20 injured in bombin g at fast- food restaur ant. Egyptian police arrest Salah Adnan Saleh, a Palestini an student at al- Azhar Universit y A 38- year- old teache r died and three 16- year- old people were injured. Timeline of violence in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict

When Rafik Says the Wrong Answer to Liyana’s Question Liyana asked Rafik if he liked it here, and to her surprise he said yes, and that was the first time she felt totally alone. Everyone loved Palestine- except for her. She felt like she was coming from another world. I think the reason the archaeologist said it takes patience was that it takes time to get used to another place, later on you might think different.

Her Life Changed Forever After Liyana’s first kiss her father announced that her family will move to Palestine. She has to leave all her friends and memories behind. She makes a Jewish friend, which is forbidden in the land, and she knows that her family won’t understand. There is no one that would know how she feels like in a whole different culture.

Conclusion and Bibliography You can see from this presentation why I thought that teenagers of Israel and Palestine today can ’ s recover from the violence they have faced all their lives C%2529%253AFQE%253D%2528su%252CNone%252C15%2529Israel%2BConflic t%2524&contentSet=GSRC&sort=Relevance&tabID=T010&sgCurrentPosition=0&subj ectAction=DISPLAY_SUBJECTS&prodId=OVRC&searchId=R5&currentPosition=6&u serGroupName=krkis&resultListType=RESULT_LIST&sgHitCountType=None&qrySer Id=Locale%28en%2C%2C%29%3AFQE%3D%28ke%2CNone%2C15%29Israel+Con flict%24&inPS=true&searchType=BasicSearchForm&displaySubject=&docId=EJ &docType=GSRC %22Tal%22+%22War+in+Palestine,+1948:+Strategy+and+Diplomacy%22+&ots=L82 m7w2CU4&sig=mhDeAidlVZILsrbTZc5Dox3VekU#PPA1,M1http://books.google.com/books?hl=ko&lr=&id=dL29_RBATv0C&oi=fnd&pg=PP13&dq= %22Tal%22+%22War+in+Palestine,+1948:+Strategy+and+Diplomacy%22+&ots=L82 m7w2CU4&sig=mhDeAidlVZILsrbTZc5Dox3VekU#PPA1,M1
