Public transport passenger transfer survey Transfer survey helps us to distinguish between the – Passengers whose origin and destination is near the minibus taxi stop where they boarded/alighted and – Those passengers who are transferring to other minibus taxi routes It involves interviewing the minibus taxi passengers about details of their current trip The surveys are conducted during the peak period (6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.)

Transfer Survey - Continued Surveys performed at a total of 35 major transfer locations throughout Kampala Surveys conducted along all legs of an intersection and on both sides of the road Public transport in Kampala mainly constitutes – Minibus taxis (14 seats) – 29 seat buses – 41 seat buses

By what type of vehicle? – Boda-boda, minibus taxi or bus? In this vehicle, what was the destination? At that (or this) location, how long did you (or will you) have to wait for the next minibus or bus?

For subsequent stages Where are you going now? Will you take another minibus or bus from there? – If answer is: “No this is the end of my trip” – If answer is: “Yes”, keep asking about further segments of the trip until they reach their destination
