Overview Estate Owned by: Marco and Maurizio Bacci Wine Region: Toscana Winemaker: Marco Bacci, Jacopo Bacci and Alessio Farnese Total Acreage Under Vine: 310 Estate Founded: 1983 Winery Production: 700,000 Bottles

Location Castello di Bossi is located in Castelnuovo Berardenga, a small municipality located about 7 miles east of Siena. The estate covers 1,625 acres, of which only 310 are under vine.

Location The soils are predominantly tuffs, yellow clays, silt-sand, and crushed rock, at an altitude of about 350 meters . These conditions, plus a unique microclimate and optimal exposition to the sun, yield grapes that are perfectly ripe, healthy, and of great character.

History The name Bossi would seem to derive from the money chest (the boxwood) which the Roman army would carry to its encampments to pay the soldiers The Bossi Castle can trace it’s history back to the 9th century A.D. The Castello di Bossi estate has evolved with the times. The estate was acquired in 1985 by the Bacci family.

Philosophy Castello di Bossi represents the perfect union of tradition and innovation. The heart of Chianti terroir provides the source material for wines that are crafted with the best technical skill and only the finest modern techniques, with the goal in mind to produce the best possible quality in their estate grown wines.

Owner Marco Bacci Born if Florence, Italy Worked in the family textile and clothing business In 1995, Marco committed himself full- time to the success of Castello di Bossi. He purchase the Renieri estate in Montalcino and the Terre di Talamo property in Maremma. Girolamo Merlot Toscana IGT After the harvest, the grapes are crushed and fermented in stainless steel and then aged in Allier barriques for approximately two years. Offers sumptuous aromas of raspberry, blackberry, spices, and tar. With excellent progression on the palate, Girolamo has a soft and silky texture, backed by a substantial backbone, and a long, fruit-laden finish. Serve with rich meat dishes, barbecue, rich risotto, game, and Bearnaise sauces over Kobe beef.

Offers jammy aromas of black currant, cherry, and cassis backed by hints of tobacco, chocolate, and coffee. On the palate, the powerful Corbaia is supple and layered with rich texture and well-integrated tannins. The perfect choice for wild boar, game, steaks and roast beef.

Chianti Classico DOCG 100% Sangiovese Grown in soils with high chalk content, this wine shows just how good this varietal can taste. Aromas of ripe charries and plums, with nuances of toasted oak and violets. on the palate, the wine displays a superb, full-structured character, all of which unfolds into an intensely savory finish. Pair with bean stews, bolognese sauces, tomato stews, and caponata.

Berardo Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 100% Sangiovese Berardo is a shortened way of saying "it comes from Berardenga.” Spicy aromas of wild berries, tobacco, tamarind and eucalyptus. On the palate, Berardo is almost creamy in texture with a fine-grained structure that is powerful without being aggressive. Recommended with roasted duck, leaner styles of steak, and braised meats.

Vin San Laurentino Toscana IGT 50% Sangiovese, 25% Trebbiano and 25% Malvasia Bianca Named after San Laurentino, the patron saint of the church located in the village of Bossi. Has characteristic aromas of dried nectarine, toasted almonds, figs and orange blossoms. The extra time spent in oak adds aromas of hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, and pignoli to an already plentiful bouquet. This classic Italian dessert wine pairs perfectly with grilled pears and poached peaches.
