Presentation transcript:

Creating Scenarios Creating scenarios is a three step process. Personas are created to identify specific target users. Goals are generated for each persona. Goals are distinguished from Tasks. Scenarios are created for each Goal.

Creating Scenarios Remember: Goals are outcomes Tasks are events or a means to accomplish the goal.

Creating Scenarios Brad is a college student in his last year and wants to purchase a cell phone that he can use as a primary phone number for his job search and when he is traveling around Canada. He is interested in getting a phone that is durable for his active lifestyle and something “big enough” that it won’t get lost in a coat pocket. He also is interested in getting a service that will provide him with voice mail, caller id and text messaging, but would be preferred. Brad is 21 years old and is studying biochemistry. He wants to travel after he graduates and wants a phone that will provide coverage in Toronto and Vancouver.

Creating Scenarios Brad’s Goals I want to know what kind of cellular packages are available. I want to find out which package is best for me. I don’t want to end up paying a lot for a service I use infrequently. I want a phone that is durable and has the feature I need. I am not interested in playing games on my phone.

Creating Scenarios Objectives of Scenario Design Scenarios address a wide variety of issues, including interaction design and functionality Scenarios should used to easily interpolated features and other sub-pages of a site.
