About Virtual Ilam The task The task is to follow the directions for a short 'virtual walk' in the Ilam area of the Peak District. The walk is split into 6 sections. There is an audio clip for each section and a short task at the end of each section. Why do this exercise? This gives you a chance to work at your own pace to: practise reading a map in an unfamiliar map area revise and make use of your existing knowledge of map symbols. What will be covered? The exercise will cover use of rights of way, basic contour interpretation and a selection of other OS symbols.

Before you start You will need to make sure that you have a paper copy of the task sheet to note your answers.paper copy You will need to make sure that your computer has the sound turned on and that you have access to speakers or a headset.
