Grade 6…Watercolors and Patterns 1. Using watercolor paper, lightly sketch the still life. 2. Again, lightly sketch patterns in all areas. 3. Cover white areas with a maskoid.

Watercolor Info There is no white paint used in watercolor to mix colors. The paper itself is used for white. If you are going to use white in your painting, use a blocking liquid, such as maskoid. Preplan for white. Water added to a color pigment determines the value, or lightness/darkness. Light colors are achieved by adding more water. Dark colors are made by using less water.
