Digital Design Schedule Semester 1: 6 Wk Grades –Web Products Website Evaluation DreamWeaver 12 Wk Grades –Imaging & Artwork PhotoShop 18 Wk Grades –Web Coding Fundamentals of Design Starting HTML & CSS Semester 2: 6 Wk Grades –Web Coding – Continued HTML5 & Intermediate CSS 12 Wk Grades –Creative Multimedia Audio Video Editing 18 Wk Grades –Animation/Game Design

This Class Aims To: Equip young people with the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to design and make digital products for others to use Foster young people’s creativity and develop their independent learning skills Increase young people’s awareness of their responsibilities in the digital world and their respect of other people’s rights Equip young people with real-world skills in planning and communication

Course Structure Section AMandatory Units: Students must complete these units 1Website Products (DreamWeaver) 2Imaging and Artwork (PhotoShop) 3Coding for the Web (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) Section BOptional Units: Students must complete ONE of these 2 units 4Creative Media (Audio, Video Editing, Flash) 5Game Making (Game Maker)

Assessment Objectives Students are required to demonstrate practical capability in

Grading Requirements 90% + = A 80 – 89% = B 70 – 79% = C 60 – 69% = D Below 60% = F

Summative Project Briefs All units will be assessed through a Summative Project Brief. The Summative Project Brief is the means by which students bring together the knowledge, skills and understanding they have acquired throughout the unit into a synoptic piece of work. There is a Summative Project Brief for each unit.
