Instructions to signing up to Goodreads.com and navigating around the webpage

First you will need to open up a new tab with the google search ready to use. Type in ‘goodreads’ into the search field and press the magnifying glass. Click on the goodreads website.

Fill in the details to the left of the screen with your name, and password. Then click on the sign up page.

You will now be directed to your home page. For my book club you must be over the age of 18 so you will have to edit your profile. You can do this by clicking on the picture with the down arrow, then clicking ‘edit profile’.

If too much time has lapsed you might have to log back in by typing in your password again and clicking continue. Now you can edit your profile. Make sure you add your birthday so it can be verified that you are over 18. Click ‘save profile settings’.

Now you can search for my book club. To do this click on the explore button and a drop down box will appear. Under the subheading ‘Communities’ and click on ‘groups’. You will be directed to another page where you can search for the name of my group.

Search the group name ‘Fiction book club’ and look for my club. You might have to look through several pages before you find my group. It will look like this. Click on the fiction book club heading. Alternatively, you can type this into the URL once you have signed in. m/group/show/ fiction-book-club

Now you are ready to join this group. Below the picture of the bookcase click on the ‘join group’ button. Now you will be directed to join the group by clicking on why you want to join the group and then confirming by clicking ‘join group’.

On the fiction book club main page, click on the discussion link to the left of the screen. Now click on ‘new topic’.

Once all the fields are filled in, click the post button and your review will be posted to the main page. Thank you for your review
