Presentation transcript:

 The way you perceive sounds rather high or low frequency.

 The lowest frequency of vibration of a standing wave.

 A series of frequencies that includes the fundamental frequency and integral multiples of the fundamental frequency.

 The musical quality of a tone resulting from the combination of harmonics present at different intensities.

 The periodic variation in the amplitude of a wave that is the superposition of two waves of slightly differently frequencies.

 The timpani consist of copper bowls. The timpani also consist of skins which is referred as the head, which is stretched across a center to give the perfect sound. The drum head is connected to a hoop attached to the bowl with tuning screws. The tuning screws are placed regularly along the outer parts of the drum. The head of the timpani can be adjusted rather tighter or looser depending on the sound you are looking for or rather the note. The standard timpani has four drums normally. You tune the timpani by a tuning pedal positioned at the bottom of the timpani.

 The trumpet is one of highest pitched instruments in the brass section. The instrument is made up of several different parts. The main part of the trumpet is the mouth piece. You control your notes by your lips on the mouth piece. The tighter your lips the higher the pitch. Also the looser your lips the lower the pitch.

 The Saxophone is a woodwind instrument. It is made up of three parts, the mouthpiece (which allows sound to be created), the bell where the mouthpiece is connected and transmits the sound to the instrument, And, finally the saxophone’s main body where that sound that is created is transferred to a series of tubes and fingerings.  Pitch is effected by an octave key located at the back of the instrument. This allows the pitch to be one step higher than a note not played with it.

 The cello is a string instrument and is made of wood. It has four strings, and each string makes a note. The A string, D string, G string, and The C string. The A string has the highest pitch and the C string has the lowest pitch. You can change the pitch of each string rather higher or lower by tuning the strings with the tuning knob which is located above each string.

 There are many differences between the timpani and trumpet.  The trumpet is a brass instrument the timpani is a percussion instrument.  The pitch of a trumpet is depending on your lips. The pitch of the timpani is depending on the tuning valve.  The trumpet is also a higher pitch instrument and the timpani is a lower pitch instrument.

 How a guitar tuner works? What it does is indicates the pitch or your instruments in three different ways. Flat meaning a little under the correct pitch or note sharp which is a little above the note or pitch and perfect which means you are on the the correct pitch or note.

 What does flat mean??  What does sharp mean?  What does a guitar tuner indicate?
