We came here traveling along a natural highway that we call the Roanoke River.

We Built Homes With Local Timber

Boats Were Essential to Life Along the River

We Built Everything With Tools Like These

Tools of 200 Years Ago How Many Do We use Today?

No lights, no ‘phone, no AC! Oil lamps!No electronic communication!

Electricity at work for us! Without electricity and the people who do this work, we wouldn’t have the world we have today!
