Using Social Media for Professional Development

How are educators using SM? PLN: Professional Learning Network  Similar Subjects  Similar Age Groups  Similar Learning Styles Sharing Resources  Blogs  Videos of sample lessons  Unit or Lesson Plans

Tips and Techniques You leave a trail of everything you post. Think before you stink. Remember your role within the school community Communicate with your colleagues about what you are doing.

Why Twitter and the EC? English Companion I find the people fascinating and intelligent I find the resources they provide reliable, and well written. They quickly make the most (and IMO) the best resources available to you. SM is relatively easy to use from any device. I like youtube a lot too.

#Hashtags Way to hold a live discussion with teachers from all over the world. An easy way to connect to instant answers. A way to share yourself with others.  Your lessons, your opinions, your support Example: #Edchats#Edchats Because #youmatter#youmatter

What is What? Twitter Wikispaces Facebook Side by side comparison Youtube

Lets get Started And I’ll show you some specific examples of what I mean.
