Internet Définition: Internet: interconnected networks: an interconnected system of networks that connects computers around the world via the TCP/IP protocol.

The world wide web (WWW) : Is one of the many services that internet offers. Is a system of interlinked hyper text documents accessed via Internet. With a web browser we can view pages which contain multimedia and navigate between them via hyper links.

Advantages: The internet connects people from around the planet and allow them to exchange media files in seconds. Net surfers can benefit from : Shopping online; e-commerce(Amazon; e-bay..) Chat . Fast communication threw social networks (twitter; facebook ;MSN; skype; yahoo..) News and media.

Entertainment(games; tv replay; films; music; videos..) Free online tutoring(anglaisfacile; mingoville; lumosity) Rich source of information(wikipedia..) Online services(banking; paying bills…)

Disadvatages: Spamming: sending unwanted messages in bulk ,especially advertising which obstructs the entire system and makes internet slower. Virus threat: an attack of computer program which spreads from one to another and may end up crashing the p-c connected to internet Social disconnect: people who get addicted to web drift apart from society. For example: instead of going out with mates ,some people prefer to chat online with the webcam on. Spreading rumors and fake profiles.

Mental and physical exhaust. Theft of personal information online such as: name, address, credit card number..your account can be accessed by con artists and you get stolen especially wile shopping online using the credit cards or banking.

Safety rules Install an anti-virus on your computer. Don’t share any personal information online. Mind chat rooms and bad sites. Never give away your password. Always logout before turning off the pc. Never agree to meet in person someone you met online. Check with an adult before downloading or installing any software. Check with an adult before buying or ordering anything online. Beware of communication with strangers.
