Organizing Your Pieces In the “middle” section of your folder: Out of the 8 pieces you have created, please place the three you want graded up front with the other pieces following. Extra pieces like writer’s challenges need to be placed behind the 8 pieces. I’m going to come around with sticky flags so that you can flag your pieces. I do this to DOUBLE check with you that you want these (3) pieces graded from the others. In the front pocket you will place your Quarter One Writer’s Response.

Quarter One Writer’s Response Step One: Front side of your paper: Create an introduction (one to two paragraphs) introducing the pieces you created and yourself as a writer. **Ways you can do this would be to talk about what inspired you, how you were able to write about difficult pieces/topics, and what are your strengths and weaknesses are as a writer. Step Two: Back side of your paper: Write an explanation (one paragraph) as to why you selected the three pieces for me to grade out of the eight. **Ways you can do this would be to elaborate on the topics further by discussing what inspired you and what mood/tone you were trying to convey in each piece.

How Will I Be Graded? 100 points total 100 points total 15 points for having ALL (8) pieces 10 points for completing the Writer’s Response 25 points for piece 1 25 points for piece 2 25 points for piece 3
