The “3 Rs” of the New Deal Relief: Programs that would help immediately by employing people. Recovery: Programs that would help the country rebuild. Attempted to help nonbank sectors of the economy recover. For example, the agricultural and housing sectors. Reform: Used legislation to prevent this disaster from happening again. Focused on banks, labor, labor unions, etc.
