Our Mission: To protect and improve the health and environment of all Kansans. October is SIDS Awareness Month

Placing babies on their back is the number one way to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Our Mission: To protect and improve the health and environment of all Kansans.

Place your baby in a safety- approved crib with a firm mattress and well-fitting sheets. Our Mission: To protect and improve the health and environment of all Kansans.

Crib should be free from toys, soft bedding, blankets and pillows. Our Mission: To protect and improve the health and environment of all Kansans.

The safest place for your baby to sleep is in the room with you, but not in your bed. Our Mission: To protect and improve the health and environment of all Kansans.

Consider using a wearable blanket or other sleeper instead of a blanket to avoid the risk of overheating. Keep the room at a temperature that is comfortable for a lightly clothed adult. Our Mission: To protect and improve the health and environment of all Kansans.

Share this (safe sleep) information with anyone who cares for your baby, including caregivers and family members. Our Mission: To protect and improve the health and environment of all Kansans.

Remember the ABC’s of Safe Sleep. Alone, on the Back and in a Crib Our Mission: To protect and improve the health and environment of all Kansans.
