Open Discussion  New Topic Areas  Website using OAUG SIG Template  Questions / Suggestions

OATM  Oracle Applications Tablespace Model (OATM)  Takes ~400 Tablespaces and consolidates them to 12!  Easier Maintenance  Available via patch /  OATM migration Utility

OATM Migration  OATM takes into account the following object I/O characteristics of an object: – Its size – Its lifespan – Its access methods – Its locking granularity

OATM Migration Actions  Facilitate administration and configuration ease.  Take advantage of wide stripe configurations.  Allow for conversion to locally managed tablespaces with uniform extent size. Using uniform extent sizes allows for exact control over unused space.  Take advantage of Automatic Segment Management.  Reclaim space after the migration.  Increase block-packing, which will reduce the overall number of buffer gets.  Improve recovery times and procedures.

OATM Tablespaces Tablespace TypeTablespace NameContents Transaction TablesAPPS_TS_TX_DATATables that contain transaction data. Transaction IndexesAPPS_TS_TX_IDXIndexes on transaction tables. ReferenceAPPS_TS_SEEDReference and set-up data and indexes. InterfaceAPPS_TS_INTERFACEInterface and temporary data and indexes. SummaryAPPS_TS_SUMMARYSummary management objects, such as materialized views, and other objects that record summary information. NologgingAPPS_TS_NOLOGGINGMaterialized views not used for summary management and temporary objects. Advanced Queuing/AQAPPS_TS_AQAdvanced Queuing and dependent tables and indexes. MediaAPPS_TS_MEDIAMultimedia objects, such as text, video, sound, graphics, and spatial data. ArchiveAPPS_TS_ARCHIVEArchive-purge-related objects UndoUNDOAutomatic Undo Management (AUM) tablespace TempTEMPTemporary tablespace for global temporary table, sorts, and hash joins. SystemSYSTEMSystem tablespace.

OATM MetaLink Notes  Oracle Applications Tablespace Model FAQs  Oracle Applications Tablespace Model Release 11i - Tablespace Migration Utility  Oracle Applications Tablespace Migration Utility User Documentation

Oracle User Management (UMX)  UMX leverages workflow to implement business logic around the registration process.  Raising business events  Provide temporary storage of registration data  Identity verification  Username policies  Include the integration point with Oracle Approval Management  Create user accounts  Release usernames  Assign access roles  Maintain registration status in the UMX schema  Launch notification workflows

Wrap Up  Thanks to OAUG for sponsoring this OAUG SIG meeting.  Thank you for attending!
