Project «Is the water the same everywhere?» Levels forms (14 – 17 Years old) Project Overview AuthorDemidova O., Gymnasia № 44, Irkutsk, Russia To get acquainted with problems of planet water resources; To compare structure and quality of water in different regions of Russia; To learn to work with Microsoft Virtual Earth maps; To receive observation skills; To create network community of teacher and pupils – defenders of water resources of Russia. Objectives DescriptionGroups of pupils of various Russian schools get acquainted with properties of water and by practical consideration define structure and quality of water resources in the region, render received data on a virtual maps and represent the work report in the form of computer presentation. Quality and composition of water, Russia, chemistry, ecology, geography, biology; Keywords

Project «Is the water the same everywhere?» Teacher Planning and Management Background & Planning: Lake Baikal is considered to be the world’s purest water reservoir. It contains 1/5 part of all world reserves of superficial sweet waters. The Angara river, the only Baikal source, is one of the purest rivers distinguished by a high transparency of water. Pupils begin the research with these reservoirs. Are structure and quality of water equal all over Russia? The purpose is to answer this question. Classroom Images: The chemical laboratory, study of information technologies are involved in the project;

Project «Is the water the same everywhere?» Ecology Chemistry Geography Biology Assessment: Results of work estimate the teacher of community «Networks of creative teachers». Assessment and Standards The content of various substances in natural water; Problems of pollution of water; Features of flora and fauna of a reservoir; Location of natural reservoirs and their features;

Project «Is the water the same everywhere?» The didactic manual for pupils: Includes simple techniques of laboratory experiences, referenced data about quality of waters. Material to project: The textbook will be useful both to pupils, and for the teacher at preparation for lessons. Contains a specification concerning structure, properties and qualities of water. Strategies for an execution the laboratory work: The laboratory works includes recommendations by definition organoleptic properties and structure of water. Teaching Resources Creation of a maps Microsoft Virtual Earth: Data on some rivers and lakes:
