ALMOND BARRIERS PROJECT Project Overview and Aims Background Work to date The optioneering phase

ALMOND BARRIERS PROJECT –OVERVIEW RAFTS and SEPA are working in partnership to deliver a programme of works to improve fish passage at barriers across Scotland. This work will contribute to the improvement of the physical condition of Scotland’s water environment. Collaborative study between RAFTS, River Forth Fisheries Trust and SEPA. Funded through WEF and HLF

ALMOND BARRIERS PROJECT –AIM To improve migratory fish passage on the River Almond To address the cumulative effect of 7 weirs on the River Almond on the migratory fish population. To open up over 30kms of fish habitat to migratory fish on the River Almond and improve the ecological status of the River Almond.
