‘What we know from research:’ Top 3 Points Most learning takes place in knowledge micro- societies: families, groups, communities, collectivities Important 21 st Century Competencies will evolve exponentially compared to 20 th Century Survival to the 22 nd Century will depend most upon our students’ learning of ethics and values, especially as related to use of ICT

‘Most important goals and objectives for the future’ Development of theory and research on knowledge and learning in social contexts Develop dynamic curriculum and assessment models (e.g., DoIT) and apply them to evolving faculty and student pathways Identify areas of agreement and disagreement across cultures with respect to character education (ethics and values)

‘Actions on how to realize the goals/objectives’ Sponsor research projects to compile best practices for teaching and learning knowledge in social contexts Conduct research on exporting & scaling up exemplary models of dynamic curricula and assessment for the 21 st Century; Develop new measurement and research agendas regarding character education (ethics and values)
