Presentation transcript:

 Anubis was the jackal-headed god of funerals and mummification. He protected the body while it was prepared for burial and continued to guard it in the tomb. Anubis’s parents were Set and Nephthys and his goddess wife was Anput. The people were not afraid to die, they felt as though they were safe and watched over by an angel. Anubis was a very loyal protector, he felt as though people should be taken care of after death, as they would if they were alive. He attends the weighing scale in Afterlife during the “Weighing Of The Heart”.

 Anubis played in the Nickelodeon television show House of Anubis. The house was a residence at an English boarding school that served as a home for nine kids under the watch of a strict caretaker. A girl named, Nina Martin moves in to the house and once she moves in, Joy Mercer disappears without a warning and the school staff traces all of his footsteps. Nina was accused of Joy’s disappearance, so she was told to spend the night in the attic and as she was in there she found a diary from a girl that she had met earlier who was now an older woman. The woman used to live there her name was Sarah Frobisher-Smythe, she had given Nina an Eye of Horus-shaped necklace with powers. Nina starts to investigate Joy’s disappearance with her friends, Fabian Rutter and Amber Millington. They formed a secret group called “Sibuna”, which was Anubis spelled backwards. There have also been references to him in games, such as Pokemon, and movies, such as “The Mummy”.

 I feel as though Anubis was placed in this television show because the mysterious powers that were in the necklace to help find their friend Joy. I also think that he takes a part in the TV show because if their friend went missing it is possible that he could have died and Anubis is the God of mummification and death. Therefore, he would have been able to help with their friend from the powers of the necklace that were with them.
