How Can I Help My Child? *Listen to your child read nightly - set aside time for “family reading” - read higher level books aloud *Help him/her decode unfamiliar words *Ask higher level comprehension questions – “Why do you think…? How do you know…?” *Make reading FUN!!!

Assessments Progress monitoring is a key component in assessing a student’s progress in reading. Students are closely monitored to determine the instruction strategies that will best meet their needs.
