Western Pine Beetle (Dendroctonus brevicomis) Host: Ponderosa Pine Kills trees that are less than 6 inches
Mountain Pine Beetle (Dendrotonus ponderosae) Hosts: All Native and introduced species of pines Kills trees less than 5 inches
Douglas Fir Beetle (Dendroctonus pseudotsugae) Hosts: Douglas Fir, Western Larch Attack trees less than 12 inches
Ambrosia Beetle (Trypodendron spp) Hosts: True Firs, Spruce, Douglas Fir, Hemlock, Larch, Pine Attacks tree that are weak, dying or recently cut
