12 th MAY – MONDAY We welcome the Swedish group with ten host pupils at the airport at 16:45 and take them to our town. It might take about 2 hours by bus as it is a rush hour. At about 8 p.m. host families welcome the pupils and take them home.

13 th MAY – TUESDAY 8:30 - All the pupils come to school and play a game to remember one another’s names and the new members introduce themselves. Turkish pupils show the Swedish group around the school. 9:30 - Torkel reminds the pupils of the theme of our project and the first Theme Work starts. Boys and girls seperately make some groups and boys prepare an advertisement of a job that is not usually chosen by girls. And they try to convince the girls to choose the job they advertised. The girls do the same thing by advertising a job that is not seen suitable for the men by the public. 12:00 – 13:30 - Lunch Break 13: :00 - After lunch, pupils film their advertisement videos or make their presentations using power points and postcards.

14 th MAY – WEDNESDAY 8:30 - All the pupils come to school and the second Theme Work starts. Mixed groups try to dramatise the modern family of their dreams that is free from norms. The groups can prepare slide shows, short plays or posters to present their modern family. 12:00 – 13:30 - Lunch Break 13: :00 - After lunch, Turkish pupils and Swedish pupils make some groups seperately and Turkish pupils try to present a woman in their history who broke the norms and did a job that is seen as a man’s job. And the Swedish groups present some Swedish women in their history. Then, the pupils create a big notice board on the wall of the school using their posters and call this notice board, ‘If they could, Why can’t we?’

15 th MAY – THURSDAY 7:30 - We head to Istanbul by bus. We visit a big media center and the pupils interview a female violence photographer at the media center.And the journalists create a video using the Green Box technology with a background view of the pupils’ choice. 12:30 – Lunch break at the media center 13:00 Heading to one of the biggest Aquarium in Europe.The pupils visit the Aquarium and interview a female diver who dives with the sharks in that Aquarium.

16 th MAY – FRIDAY 8:30 - In the morning,girls try to do woodwork.They make some tea coasters using manual jigsaw and wood. They can do other things like ornaments,too. Boys try to make some jewels like bracelets or necklaces using evil eye beads and fishingline. 12:00 – 13:30 – Lunch break 13:30 – 15:30 - In the afternoon, girls try to use ‘Turkish Writing Art’ on porcelain plates that is done mostly by men and they make a souvenir for their family. Boys do a kind of sawing or a kind of handcraft. (This is not certain yet) 15: A contest is carried out in the school garden that consists of several stations at which boys peel potatos, do the washing up, try to make a jewel with beads and girls hammer some nails on wood, screw some studs on wood or cut a piece of wood with a saw etc. Let’s see, who will be faster and be the winner?

17 th MAY – Saturday 08:30 - Going to Princes Islands by ferry We go to the Big Island and if the weather permits we go swimming in the island. And for lunch we have a picnic and a person in charge cook ‘döner’ Turkish kebab for us.

18th MAY – Sunday Host families do some activities with the pupils.

19th MAY – Monday 8:00 - Going to Istanbul for fun. We go to Istanbul Vialand Amusement Park. 16:00 or 17:00 - We turn back to Bosphorus Strait and rent a boat.And we take a boat cruise on the Bosphorus and see all the historic sites from the ferry. And we get off the ferry on the other side of the strait and go back home.

20th MAY – Tuesday 9:00 - In the morning, girls and boys learn how to do ‘Art of Marbling’ : in Turkish ‘Ebru’. 13:30 - In the afternoon, girls and boys learn the Turkish folk dances but girls learn how to dance like boys and vice versa. In the evening, we hold a cultural show in the open air at a place like a castle in our town. Turkish folk dances, music with Turkish instruments and some songs are presented.If they volunteer, Swedish pupils can present a show or sing.(May be the show that Wilma,Josefin and Katrina did with the glasses in your cultural show)

21st MAY – Wednesday 10 :30 - We give a late start after a busy day. In the school garden, while boys planting some flowers as the sign of our friendship in flower pots, the girls plaster a part of the wall and paint the wall white like real painters. After they paint it white, we divide the wall into some parts and make mixed groups and want the pupils draw and paint a picture that reflects our project’s theme. And it will be a product of the project. If we have time we can pay a visit to the zoo of our town. (optional)

22nd MAY – Thursday Historic Tour of Istanbul

23rd MAY – Friday A great picnic - Having a barbecue 24th MAY – Saturday 12 : 00 - We see off our guests at the airport.
