The Teacher Models Folding the Book by...  Folding the construction paper strip in half.  Taking the open ends to meet the middle fold.  Showing the students it will look like the letter M when folding is complete. M when folding is complete.

The Students will Cut Animal Report Pages by...  Folding the report in half ‘hamburger’ way.  Folding the report in half ‘hotdog’ way.  Cut the pages into quarter size pieces following the fold lines.

The Teacher Models Placing Pages by...  Showing the students how to layout the pages.  Telling students what order their pages should be in as they lay them out.  Instructing them to glue them on the booklet.

Students will decorate their books.  Use construction paper to draw the head of the animal.  Color the face of the animal.  If your animal has a tail or backend, draw this with the remaining construction paper pieces and color.

The teacher instructs students to...  Write the title of the animal report on the front of the booklet.  Make sure the student puts their name on the cover as the ‘author’.  Double check work using rubric.
