Green Grass, Green Grass, What do you see? Project 28

Purpose I CHOSE CCSS STANDARD: CC.K.CC. 1-3, 5-8- writing to compose opinion pieces in which they tell a reader the topic or the name of the book they are writing about and state an opinion or preference about the topic or book; Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose informative/explanatory texts in which they name what they are writing about and supply some information about the topic. Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to narrate a single event or several loosely linked events, tell about the events in the order in which they occurred, and provide a reaction to what happened. With guidance and support from adults, respond to questions and suggestions from peers and add details to strengthen writing as needed. Participate in shared research and writing projects (e.g., explore a number of books by a favorite author and express opinions about them). With guidance and support from adults, recall information from experiences or gather information from provided sources to answer a question. AND ASKED MY STUDENT (S) TO CREATIVELY DEMONSTRATE THEIR UNDERSTANDING BY: Choosing an Eric Carle book format and curriculum topics to write about; writing a story; publishing the story in a PowerPoint; illustrating the book with tissue paper shapes and taking photographs; explaining what they learned and enjoyed in a writing reflection. TO ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTION: KK02, KK02, What Have You Learned?

Green grass, green grass, what do you see? I see a brown tree looking at me.

Brown tree, brown tree, what do you see? I see a pink flower looking at me.

Pink flower, pink flower, what do you see? I see a blueberry looking at me.

Blueberry, blueberry, what do you see? I see a red apple looking at me.

Red apple, red apple, what do you see? I see green grass, a brown tree, a pink flower, and a blueberry looking at me.

Reflection I learned about living things and wrote it in a book. I liked painting the tissue paper.
