Knowledge Exchange
CRIS-OAR Metadata Interoperability project Resulted from a Knowledge Exchange Workshops meeting in January 2007 at SURF, Utrecht. More specifically as a follow-up activity of the conclusive report of the workshop “Exchanging Research Information” (Matthias Razum, Ed Simons, Wolfram Horstmann, Institutional Repositories Workshop Strand Report; Strand title: Exchanging Research Information, Utrecht, February 2007).
CRIS-OAR Metadata Interoperability project The Knowledge Exchange collaboration between DEFF, DFG, JISC and SURF has initiated this project to increase the practical interoperability between CRIS ( Current Research Information Systems) and OAR (Open Access Repositories) systems by defining and proposing a metadata exchange format for publication information with an associated common vocabulary – and thus contributing to:Knowledge ExchangeCurrent Research Information Systems Making metadata input more efficient Avoiding or reducing duplicated inputs on the two platforms Increasing metadata quality, reliability and reusability Increasing quality level of services based on these metadata Reducing costs of metadata handling and exchange.
