Apuntes (Notes) - Nouns Spanish nouns have gender, either masculine or feminine. This affects the article and adjective endings as well. This is very different from the English language. To pluralize nouns: If a noun ends in a vowel, add –s If a noun ends in a consonant, add –es (this adds a syllable) 1
