Motivation ▪Different types of ABS, such as macro-BS, hot zone BS, relay and femto, are all employed to satisfy various demands from different users in different area ▪Each ABS carries an unique SA-Preamble sequence as its identity ▪SA-Preamble set is divided into several non-overlapped subsets, each of which is reserved for different ABS types ▪If SA-Preamble partition information is carried in SFH, AMS can select the preferred ABS type once it decodes the SFH without referring to the higher layer message, such as MAC message, to reduce network entry or handover latency ▪The SA-Preamble partition should be flexible, depending on the deployment scenario, and the partition information should be passed to AMS without much signaling overhead

SA-Preamble Sequences in m ▪According to the resolution of #474 comment in the Session 62 nd meeting, 768 SA-Preamble sequences is divided into three segments, each of which contains 256 sequences ▪For each segment, only half of 256 sequences are explicitly shown in IEEE C802.16m-09/1478r3. This is because the other 128 sequences can be generated by flipping and conjugating of the previous 128 codes ▪Our partition method is applied to all three segment

Proposed SA-Preamble Partition Table (1/3) ▪For each SA-Preamble segment, we first make a hard cut between macro ABS and non-macro ABS cell ID sets –The total number of cell ID supported for macro ABS is [120(=20*2*3)] Only 114 cell ID in e –The size of macro/non-macro BS sets is fixed and is known to AMS –No feedback is needed for the hard partition size

Proposed SA-Preamble Partition Table (2/3) ▪For the non-macro ABS cell ID set, we further divided it into three different partitions, namely, hot zone, relay, femto (including both OSG and CSG) ▪A [3]-bit index broadcasted in S-SFH is used to indicate the size of these three partitions as below –The total size of soft partition is [108] pairs IndexHotZoneRelayFemto 0b0001/123/128/12 0b0013/121/128/12 0b0102/12 8/12 0b0112/123/127/12 0b1003/122/127/12 0b1013/12 6/12 0b1102/124/126/12 0b1114/122/126/12

Proposed SA-Preamble Partition Table (3/3) ▪For the Femto partition, we further divided it into three different subsets, namely, OSG, CSG open and CSG close. ▪We pre-allocate different size to different femto type, i.e., [16] pairs in OSG femto, [16] pairs in CSG Open femto and the rest pairs for CSG Close femto ▪Two [4]-bit pointers, whose value is between [-8~7] is used to adjust the size of OSG and CSG Open femto –Max. size of OSG/CSG Open femto is [23] pairs –Min. size of OSG/CSG Open femto is [8] pairs ▪The information of these two pointers is broadcasted in AAI_SCD

Text Proposal (1/2) ▪Modify the following text in line 9 of Page 288 –SA-Preamble sequences are partitioned and each partition is dedicated to specific base station type like Macromacrocell BS, FemtoMacro Hotzone BS, femtocell BS and etc. The partition information is broadcasted in the extended system information. Within each SA-Preamble segment, the first [40] SA-Preamble sequences are reserved for macro-BS and the rest of [216] sequences are for Macro Hotzone, Relay, and femto. The size of Macro Hotzone, Relay, and femto is controlled by a [3]-bit index specified in Table xxx. The value of index is broadcasted in S-SFH. In addition, Femto partition can be further divided into three parts, namely, OSG, CSG Open and CSG Close femtos. The size of each partition is signaled by two [4]-bit pointers, whose values are signaled in AAI_SCD.

Text Proposal (2/2) ▪Insert the following table after the second paragraph of Page 288 Table xxx-Soft partition of SA-Preamble IndexHotZoneRelayFemto 0b0001/123/128/12 0b0013/121/128/12 0b0102/12 8/12 0b0112/123/127/12 0b1003/122/127/12 0b1013/12 6/12 0b1102/124/126/12 0b1114/122/126/12
