Brief Biography Born in Vytegra, 1932 Family moved when he was very small to Murmansk, where he grew up But he and his wife owned a house in Vytegra and another on the shore of Lake Onega, in the village of Golyashi Used a wide range of techniques, but favored linocuts Drew and painted landscapes, portraits, village and town scenes Very interested in the far north (above Arctic Circle; but also took themes from the Vytegra area)
